IGCSE Chemistry exam fees in Thailand: registering as a private candidate, sessions and what to prepare
International-school students are entered by their school, but home-schooled students and anyone sitting independently must register as a private candidate at an exam centre. This guide sums up the Cambridge IGCSE Chemistry 0620 fee in Thailand from official notices, which centre takes entries, the sessions, and what changes if you sit Edexcel 4CH1.
The short answer
Cambridge IGCSE Chemistry 0620 at British Council Thailand (Oct/Nov 2026 session): 9,950 baht per subject, the same for Core and Extended. Late entry is 4,070 baht. Fees are non-refundable.
There are two sessions a year, May/June and Oct/Nov. Both options British Council offers use Paper 6 (Alternative to Practical), so no lab is needed.
Edexcel 4CH1: British Council Thailand does not take Pearson Edexcel entries. You need a centre that accepts private candidates, and we found no official baht fee to quote.

Sessions and deadlines

May/June 2027: deadlines not yet published when checked. Watch the British Council dates and fees page and register online through the registration steps.
British Council's registration guide says retakes are only available in the Oct/Nov session. If you plan a first sitting in Oct/Nov, email the centre to confirm before registering.
Paper 6: no lab needed
Both the Core and Extended options at British Council use Paper 62 (Alternative to Practical): a 1-hour, 40-mark written paper worth 20% of the grade. Home-schooled students can sit it without lab access, but need fluent practice reading apparatus, results tables and graphs (no lab at home: preparing for Paper 6 · how to score on Paper 6).
Sitting Edexcel 4CH1
4CH1 has no practical paper: two written papers (1C and 2C) in the June and November series (the 4CH1 papers).
British Council Thailand takes Cambridge and OxfordAQA entries only. Private candidates for Edexcel should use Pearson's centre finder and ask the centre directly about fees and deadlines.
The total budget
The exam fee is the small part next to tuition. Market tutoring rates and the hours needed by starting level are in what IGCSE Chemistry exam prep costs; qualification routes for home-schooled students are in home school to medicine or engineering.
